JACK 是誰？
他是個體，“他” 同時也代表了一類人。他們不拘一格，不用尋常的眼睛去看世界，他們願意用自己的手去創造生活，用真實的感情去賦予作品生命。他們是讓 “東西” 誕生的人。
Samantha 是來自美國加州的藝術策展人，韓夏是來自中國華北的獨立電影導演，她們兩個對於生活在中國的 JACK 充滿了好奇心。他們做了什麼呢？
夏天開始的時候，她們踏上了尋找 “JACK” 的旅程。

林欣杰 Keith Lam
林欣杰（Keith Lam）的 “實驗室” Dimension＋ 就位於觀塘的一座非常普通的建築裡，旁邊是一間乒乓球學校，總有臉龐紅通通的小朋友突然竄出來。在香港 6 月惱人的悶熱天，Sam 和韓夏剛剛走進這個碩大（在香港人均居住面積只有 12.6 平米的現在，它真的是大到驚人！）的空間時，都迅速地感到了一絲 “冷意”，幾台不同體積和功能的激光切割機，3D 印表機，還有大量的裝置藝術作品，甚至還有幾套機器人制服擺在角落。處在實驗室後端的工作間充滿了木料和工具，簡直就是一個製造者的天堂。Sam 和韓夏腦海中都充滿了無數的問題— “這個是什麼” “那個怎麼用”，似乎用一整天的時間都無法把這個寶藏探究明白。
林欣杰是一位成功的新媒體藝術家，同時也是香港理工大學設計學院和香港藝術學院的客座講師，說話一直都極為平和而有耐心。他帶著 Sam 和韓夏展示了各種機器的使用方法，雖然一切都還是帶著神奇的光芒，但是兩位找尋女孩都覺得，原來做一個自己腦海中的東西，只要肯花時間，真的沒有那麼難！
在實驗室的出口處擺着一個木箱，裡面放了很多林欣杰收藏的老唱片，很多都是香港流行音樂輝煌年代的精品。把一張 “Beyond” 的《再見理想》擺上林欣杰自製的木頭唱機上，時間好像真的回到了很久之前。當然，林欣杰不會和他的理想離別，他正一步步邁進他的理想——也許你還在迷惑怎樣做一個製作家，也許你為生活所困太久，但是這一切都還有機會，只要有時間和希望，任何人都可以做一個 Maker。至於怎樣才能做一個 Maker，下篇再聊！
